Submissions from playwrights

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE CARDBOARD BOX COLLABORATIVE!

The CBC will always accept any play from any playwright, regardless of production history, style or tone.  Please read our mission statement, and please read the below information very carefully, but other than that, we'd love to hear from you!

We are looking for playwrights that want to form a long-term relationship with us, playwrights who want to be involved in upcoming projects and playwright that are interested in creating pieces in collaboration with us . As such, we rarely produce  scripts that are completed and view our completely open submission policy, reading series and even the Speed the Muse: Lock-In as a an audition for playwrights.

  • WE TEND TO ONLY WORK WITH EMERGING WRITERS
  • WE PREFER A PDF FORMAT, BUT WILL ACCEPT .DOC, .RTF. AND .TXT
  • PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT SCREEN PLAYS.  WE DON'T DO MOVIES.
  • WE ACCEPT ALL PLAYS FROM ALL PLAYWRIGHTS
  •  LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS FAVORED [DC TO NY]
  • WE REALLY LIKE READING UNFINISHED WORK
  • WE REALLY REALLY LIKE IT WHEN PLAYWRIGHTS TALK TO US BEFORE THEY SUBMIT!
